Depending on who buys it, it might not matter. In NY it would be exempt.

How is the state with the largest city not smog checking this car?

It kind of looks like a dually with those flares

No cage? Hard pass. They’re asking $10k. By the time you put the cage in you’re up to ~$15k.
Why not just offer this guy $15k and get an actual race ready car rather than a Frankenproject with a ton of work needing to be done?

While there are no exemptions for vehicle safety inspections . Some vehicles are exempt from emissions inspections depending on the age or type of the vehicle. Emissions exemptions extend to:
Vehicles less than 2 years old.
Vehicles older than 25 years old.
Electric vehicles.*
Motorcycles.
Vehicles registered with historical plates.
Vehicles that meet heavy safety inspection standards, as defined by the NY DMV.
Diesel powered vehicles model year 1997 and newer that weigh under 8,501 lbs.*”
It’s part of the reason why I picked the mustang I bought. I just need to comply with their safety inspection.

Oh, I forgot it’s 25 years or older... I guess that happens here too.

To each his own. I regularly go 6 second in the 1/8th mile with no cage in a 82 granada ... it’s all relevant. I think his 400 hp claims are far off. If you ended up with this car for 7-7500 ..

I road race and don’t have a cage either but I’m not wheel to wheel racing. That thing looks like it is a proper race car but it’s thousands of dollars from bring a NASA or SCCA race car ... despite how good it looks. And boy does it look good. But it’s also half finished and the tracks and the sanctioning bodies require a ton of shit that car doesn’t have.
